Will YOU Fall Victim To WSOP Syndrome?
By Rory Monahan,

I'm sure that you have noticed that is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to turn on a TV
these days without seeing a poker game...
And while I love all the fish that the Texas Hold 'Em explosion has
produced, watching too much poker can DEVASTATE your poker game.
That's right...
More and more, I see players falling victim to what I call "WSOP
Syndrome."
WSOP Syndrome comes from watching the entire World Series Of Poker and
thinking that is what real poker is like.
For many newcomers, watching the WSOP and the World Poker Tour are the
ONLY "experience" they have.
There are many reasons you should be cautious about treating the WSOP as a
true representation of real-life poker...
1. You will never catch that many good cards.
It's not because they players on TV have better luck- instead, it is
because the games are TIME-CONDENSED to make them more exciting.
In other words, what you see on TV is only a FRACTION of what REALLY
happens...
Often amateurs feel that they should play every 2-3 hands... this leads to
loose play and lost money.
2. You must understand the "limits of low-limit."
Unless you are playing for high stakes (over $1,000), you will find that
the games you play in are much LOOSER than the games on TV.
So a hand that the players on TV wouldn't play will often be played at
your local game.
3. You don't want to become cocky.
I cannot tell you how many times some new player sits down at a table
thinking that with his "experience" watching poker, he could hang with
REAL players.
Lol.
4. You (probably) haven't mastered the art of poker.
Most aspects of poker require up to years of practice to use at the level
that you see on TV.
Players on TV have played for years and have mastered the art of bluffing,
betting, and intimidation.
If you are a novice, and you try to bluff like Gus Hansen, calculate the
odds like Howard Lederer, or intimidate players like Doyle Brunson, you
WILL end up losing your entire bankroll.
Period.
5. You should be practicing instead!
Real practice is really the best way for you to improve your poker game.
Start with local low-stakes tournaments and work your way from there.
Poker on the television is a great way for you to see new strategies,
learn more about poker, and improve your game.
However, make sure that you understand the difference between the World
Series Of Poker and the multi-million dollar World Poker Tour tournaments
and a low-stakes game.
Instead of emulating the players on TV, make YOUR OWN PATH and learn how
to dominate every game you play.
To help you do this, I have compiled all my closely-guarded secrets into a
revolutionary "Texas Hold 'Em Secrets" e-book.
(As far as I know, it IS the best-selling course on the topic of Texas
Hold 'Em on the Internet right now!)
The information in this book- gathered from over 13 years of playing Texas
Hold 'Em, will give you the boost you need to start winning more money
playing poker.
The guide is easy to read and is backed with an unconditional 100%

more than pay for itself.
